Seton Lake serves as a vital connector between Cooks Bay, Harrisons Bay, and Spring Park Bay, effectively linking the western and eastern shores of Lake Minnetonka. Nestled within the city of Mound, this serene waterway is a smaller yet picturesque body of water surrounded by residential areas within the Mound Westonka School District.
With a maximum depth of 25 feet, Seton Lake has been assigned a C rating in water quality by the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District. Due to its status as a busy channel between Cooks Bay and Harrisons Bay, swimming is generally not recommended here.
Seton Lake operates under a no wake zone policy, promoting a safe and peaceful environment for all watercraft users.
Seton Lake's limited marinas and boat launches make it an appealing spot for docking recreational boats. Nearby Harrisons Bay offers quick access to Metro Lakes Marina and Rentals, where boaters can enjoy convenient amenities including dock slips, fuel pumps, and a range of rentals such as pontoons, fishing boats, jet skis, and paddleboards.
Renowned for its fishing opportunities, Seton Lake is regulated for minimal wake, making it a prime spot
for anglers, especially in the early morning or late evening. Fish species thriving in its waters
include Largemouth Bass, Muskie, Black and White Crappie, Bluegill, Northern Pike, and Walleye. During
the winter months, the lake transforms into a vibrant hub for ice fishing, with numerous ice houses
lining the bay from freeze-up until the first Monday in March.
For a unique experience, visitors can stop by Back Channel Brewing Co., a dog-friendly brewery located
near the lake. Known for its variety of hand-crafted beers and rotating food trucks, Back Channel
welcomes patrons from Tuesday to Sunday evenings. Accessing the brewery by boat is possible, but limited
dock space means planning ahead is advisable for those looking to arrive via watercraft.
