South Upper Lake is nestled just north of Smithtown Bay, separated from West Upper Lake by the picturesque Wawatasso Island. The Upper Minnetonka Yacht Club is situated on Enchanted Island in Mound, providing sailing lessons and additional dock slips. While there are no boat launches directly on South Upper Lake, residents can easily access Spring Park Bay, which has a convenient boat launch nearby.
Just a short drive from South Upper Lake, Crescent Beach on East Upper Lake offers a delightful spot for recreation. The beach includes a swimming dock and launch areas for kayaks and canoes, catering to outdoor enthusiasts. Jointly owned and operated by the cities of Tonka Bay and Shorewood, Crescent Beach features lifeguards on duty daily from noon to 5 PM, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for families and visitors alike.
