For residents, the city provides municipal boat slips, with 100 slips available at Barry Avenue and Grove Lane. Residents participate in an annual lottery for slip assignments, with improved chances for continuous applicants. The Wayzata Yacht Club, while not a marina, is renowned as a community sailing center, offering robust adult and youth sailing programs and hosting one of the nation’s largest sailboat racing initiatives.
Amenities
Wayzata Bay’s inviting atmosphere and prime location offer a wealth of year-round attractions. Summer highlights include the annual Wayzata Art Experience, Sunday Music in the Park, and the signature James J. Hill Days festival. The Wayzata Art Experience, held the last weekend of June, transforms downtown Wayzata into a vibrant art fair, featuring local artists and craftsmen. Every Sunday from 4:30 to 5:30 PM, residents and visitors gather for Sunday Music in the Park, a free concert series showcasing local talent, set against the backdrop of Hotel Landing. The largest event, James J.
